Buildings:
Custom homes
are built typically with large windows, airy spaces, and irregular
geometry. It is often set on hillside or beach. An elegant structural
design works seamlessly with the architectural space. Most common
building material for home design is wood. TME has conducted training
seminars in wood design for fellow engineers and architects. TME is
experienced with the design of custom homes on creeping, expansive,
compressible soils and on beach sand.
Track homes and apartments
are simple structures. A seasoned structural engineer knows how to
design track homes economically without cutting corners. A judiciously
chosen structural system to suit a particular architectural design is
the key to saving construction cost.
Condominiums
are known to be vulnerable to lawsuits. Suits often originate from
cracks and leaks. TME has the know how to reduce the potential of
cracks for stucco wall, slab on grade and masonry wall. Many condominiums
have subterranean parking garages, which often crack and leak.
Post-tensioned parking slab with controlled restraint can substantially
reduce the crack potential. TME is an expert in designing crack
mitigated, post-tensioned subterranean parking. We have an excellent
record of designing crack resistant PT parking garages.
Commercial
Building:
Shopping centers, movie theaters, hotels , restaurants are all examples
of commercial buildings. Innovative design using proven structural
systems and materials is the gateway to economical design. TME is
experienced with all non-experimental structural systems and materials.
We can design safe and elegant buildings at a lower cost.
Industrial
Building:
Industrial buildings are typically irregular, sometimes massive. Therein
resides the opportunity to be creative. A good structural design has an
even factor of safety applied to all parts of the structure. Before
finalizing the design we evaluate the preliminary design of several
candidate structural systems. We will select the system which possesses
the most evenly distributed factor of safety.
